Personal Opinions of Sorcerers PvP Skills in TERA

Since I played MMOs, I was fond of sorcerers (also called wizard in some MMOs). Although weaker than melee classes, a sorcerer is characteristic of controlling, owning a mix of area of effect, in-line, and targeted skills and debuffs. Owing to a sorcerer’s fragility and talent in controlling, in battles he will be likely to be placed the number one should-killed class. Consequently, to use a sorcerer well positioning and strategies are very important. Here I want to talk something about PvP of sorcerers in TERA.

As is all known, PvP stands for player versus player combat. You may have a number of reasons to take part in PvP, like showing off your ability to control, gaining your fame, roaming the world, defeating all challengers to look for challengers. No matter what reasons you have, you should had better train yourself well to be a veteran.

Sorcerers VS melee classes. If you happen to combat with a melee class, you should think it lucky. Melee classes are stronger but have slow movement speed. They have higher physical defense but they can be pained by magical attack. But you should not be too cautious as you are also weak under the physical attack. Facing a melee class, sorcerers should always keep distances. Every time a melee class moves closer to you, use Backstep skills to take quick steps backward or use Ice Needle or Glacial Retreat or Hail Storm to slow down your foe’s movement speed. While your foe is slowed down, you should use Fireball, Flame Pillar and any other skills with high damage output to decrease their life points one by one. Your melee foe can do nothing rather than be attacked to die. Therefore, you should be an excellent “kiter” facing melee classes.

Sorcerers VS remote attackers. As far as I am concerned, in a battle remote attackers against remote attackers, who have better controlling skill and are capable of seizing the timing will be the winner in the end. In this case, be patient. Use Flame Pillar, Magma Bomb and any other AOE skills to keep distance. Keep moving. Set traps. Avoid your foe’s attack and do not be trapped. Tempt your foe strategically to your traps. Then release any possible skills to kill him at a time. There is no doubt that offensive and defensive are of great importance. But If you are patient enough and good to grab timing, you are sure to beat down ranged class foe that has a little higher offensive and defensive.

Sorcerers in a team battle. In a team battle, a sorcerer should not kill melee classes at first. Instead, you should try to put down sorcerers, archer and other remote classes of your opponent. Then use the kite strategy to kill melee classes. The key point is that you should kill the weaker and those who have DPS.

Above is my personal opinion about sorcerers’ PvP. If you have any distinctive views, please feel free to discuss. And pay attention to TERA gold farming as it is material support to your PvP.
